I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the U9C Head Coach. I hope all the girls had fun with the development skates and are excited for the season! I have received many comments, along with seeing it myself, the vast improvement in just the four ice times alone. Moving forward we will be having three tryout skates where the girls will be evaluated and placed on one of the three U9 Bluewater teams. I would like to reiterate that at this time every girl trying out will have a roster spot to play with Bluewater within the U9 program. The girls will be evaluated by myself with the help of non-parent evaluators to ensure the focus is on a fun and exciting year of U9 hockey.
The Ice times on September 14th & 15th will be organized inner squad scrimmages where the girls will be assigned a team colour and numbered pinny. It always comes up so I will just mention that the number assigned does not reflect anything to do with numbers for the season. Also, from experience it is important to mention to keep and wear the assigned colour and number and refrain from “trading” in the dressing room.
