Welcome to the Bluewater Midget A girls hockey program. I am
looking forward to an exciting hockey season in 2017-2018. I am very fortunate to
have a coach joining me this upcoming year who is a non-parent coach. Kayle
Moore, who just finished a very successful season as the Bluewater Midget AA coach, will be assisting in developing and implementing our season plan.
Our coaching philosophy for the upcoming season will be based on providing an enjoyable challenging environment for the girls to embrace and develop as hockey players and young adults. Our goal will be to have a very successful season while developing and promoting our girls so they are in a position to play with the Bluewater Midget AA or Junior team next year. For this coming year, we will be working very closely with Joel Belanger from the Midget AA program to provide our girls opportunities to practice and play at the AA level when they arise.
For the 2017-2018 season, it is anticipated our individual player cost will be approximately $2,000. We will participate in fundraising and sponsorship activities to offset family contributions. We will attend 3 – 4 tournaments throughout the year and our goal will be to play for the League Championship and at the OWHA Provincials.
Our team will participate in the LLFHL Midget A division which will have us play 22 league games throughout the season. These will occur mostly on weekends. We will also have 3 practices every 2 weeks and each practice is 1.5 hours in length. On occasion, we may obtain additional ice when desired.
I welcome all interested and eligible players to tryout. Please remember that the tryout fee is required to be paid prior to trying out and all necessary forms (Permission To Skate (PTS) Forms for players outside of Bluewater) will need to be submitted.
