On Friday, May 8th we will hold our first parent/player meeting at Thompson Arena, University of Western Ontario. At this meeting, we will discuss the budget and our expectations for the year. It will also give the girls the chance to introduce themselves as members of the 2015-16 Bantam A BluewaterHawks. The meeting will start at 6:15pm....continued....
Immediately after the team meeting, Chris Higgins and Brian Gosling will
speak to the team about the Western Mustangs Women's Hockey program and what
it takes to play CIS hockey. Parents are also invited to attend this
session. Chris coached the Mustangs to their first national championship
this winter. In recognition of his success this year-on the way to the
national championship, Western lost only one game in the regular season and
none in the playoffs on the way-Chris was awarded both OUA and CIS coach of
the year honours.
After the Western and CIS information session, the girls will take to the
ice for a skills testing session directed by Chris Higgins. The session will
benchmark shot speed, shooting accuracy, and skating speed. We plan to test
the girls again at the end of the summer.
