Atom C wins Orillia Hawks Tournament
This past weekend the Atom C team travelled to Orillia for the annual Orillia Hawks tournament.  The team went 4 wins and no losses giving up only 2 goals in the 4 games. A very strong weekend by goalie Emma James as she was named tournament MVP. A strong team defensive effort resulted in a 2-0 win in the final against a tough Timmins team. The duo of Jillian Milligan and Vanessa Rombouts shut down the most talented offensive player we have faced so far this year. The final game winning goal was scored by McKenna Bondy as a result of the hard work by Lindsey Stanton. The offensive highlight of the weekend was the hat trick scored by centerman Lindsey Stanton in the semi-final. The defensive combo of Katie Stanton and Kelsey Vafiades logged a lot of scoreless minutes this weekend as well, protecting neminder James. A total team effort and determination resulted in the teams second consecutive tournament victory this year. In November, the Atom C team went 4 wins and a tie to win the Stratford Aces Tournament, with another total team effort victory 3-1 over the Woodstock Wildcats in the final. The girls now need to prepare for provincial qualifying rounds that will start in a few weeks. Next tournament is in February where they will try to keep things rolling at the Brantford Walter Gretzky Tournament. Great job girls!
